" Cabo Blanco " This Voluntary Program is part of the " cooperation agreement " exists between the agency and the program ASVO of the Ministry of Environment and Energy ( MINAE ), institution of the government of Costa Rica that administrate and protect all the system of National Parks and Natural Reserves of country. The program develops in a paradisiacal place called Cabo Blanco National Reserve located in the Gulf of Nicoya, province of Puntarenas, North Pacific of Costa Rica. The Reserve it has an extension of 1,272 land hectares and 1,700 sea hectares and is part of big area of natural conservation called " Area of Conservation River Tempisque ". Part of the reserve is the " Cabo Blanco Island " that is located 1 km far from the coast of park. Within the reserve it have found 140 different kind of trees, several kind of mammalians including deer, monkeys, coyotes, squirrels and some felines. It is an amazing population of wild birds and between the sea fauna is possible to find a big diversity of fishes, crabs and mollusk. The forest is " Dry Tropical " in transition to " Wet Tropical " and the average temperature is around 25° Celsius / 77° Farenheight, most part of year. Main attractions of Reserve: the " Cabo Blanco " Island, great natural paths, several look - out with great views to the reserve and sea and an amazing diversity of mammalians, birds and insects. The reserve disposes of services as: · Electricity · Potable Water · Independent installations where lodge volunteers, only. Next to the Reserve is located the town of " Cabuya " where is possible find several groceries and restaurants and 11 Km far from reserve is located the town of " Montezuma " where is possible find more restaurants, supermarkets, shops of souvenirs and internet service. Gallery of Pictures The " Voluntary Work " includes maintenance of paths and buildings, cleaning of beaches and attention to visitors. The volunteers lodge in comfortable bedrooms for boys and girls.
